Hello, I have the following setup:

2004 Baja Turbo, 4EAT (ECU ID: 3712405006)
2005 EJ257

Please tolerate the following noob questions and comments:
- My rationale was, since people often swap their FXT ECU for a 2004 STI ECU when swapping to VF39 turbo/ STI TMIC on their MT FXT, that logic should apply to the Baja Turbo as well
- My understanding is the TCM does get data from a AT ECU regarding torque control, etc. and there is dedicated circuitry in the ECU for this outside the normal maps.
- I flashed a 2004 STI ROM onto my Baja ECU. Retrospectively this may have been foolish but the car starts and runs. The AT Oil temp light flashes continuously which I'm guessing means TCM is not able to communicate to the ECU.
- I have looked at both maps and the defs are different in that there are lots more parameters in the STI rom and the table sizes are different (mostly larger). I am currently copying over the STI tables into the Baja ROM.

Onto my questions:
- What is the physical internal difference between the MT and AT ECUs? Why do some ECUs have MT/AT compatibility?
- What distinguishes an AT ROM from a MT ROM (asides for tuning for the AT itself)? There is nothing additional in the MAP regarding providing info to the TCM.
- Regarding MAF scaling: I have the stock Baja airbox. I believe the MAF is the same between MY04 Baja and STI. Should i calibrate MAF to be safe or use existing Baja MAF scale and extrapolate for additional engine load (4 extra cells)

Thanks for your insight.

Just to update:
- Most of the STI maps have been transposed into the Baja Turbo ROM. No codes from ECU or TCM.
- I don't have great resolution for DBW requested torque and horrible resolution for individial cylinder timing comp. I guess that's something I will tune in the future
- I kept the original MAF scaling and I will calibrate with a new intake.
